Site Waste Management Plans
The Site Waste Management Plans Regulations 2008 came into force 6th April 2008.
The regulations make site waste management plans compulsory for all construction projects in England costing over £300,000 (excluding Vat). The plan is a live document and must be updated through the course of the project. The client for the project is responsible for:
- producing the initial plan before construction work begins,
- appointing the principal contractor,
- passing the plan to the principal contractor.
We can work with the client to produce the initial plan. The principal contractor is then responsible for:
- keeping the plan on site,
- making sure other contractors know the plan exists and where it is kept as well as providing information for the plan,
- allowing other contractors and the client access to the plan during the project,
- keeping the plan for two years after completion of the project.
On completion of the project, the plan must be reviewed and held for 2 years.
