Health and Safety Audits/Advice

This role should not be confused with the role of CDM Co-ordinator. The CDM Co-ordinators duties are defined in law in the Approved Code of Practice for CDM 2007 (please refer to the CDM Co-ordinator page of our website) and do not include what we offer here under Health and Safety Audits/Advice.

CJ Consilium have been approached by principal contractors to take a pragmatic review of their construction operations and their sites. Many organisations have 'acquired' paperwork and processes that take time to complete but add little if any value to the process of risk or site management.

We visit the site or sites and take a 'snapshot' of the activities and practices at that time and then review with the site manager:

  • what if anything could have been done better,
  • the thought processes followed to reach the decisions taken,
  • the paperwork on site, is it correct and is it relevant to what is being done on site.

A method statement produced on site in a few minutes by the site manager and the operatives who are going to do the work is much more meaningful than a computer generated, all singing, all dancing document produced back at the office by somebody who hasn't been to site.... CJ Consilium's aim is to educate and inform those at site level how to apply the current health and safety legislation in a meaningful and practical manner.
